Special shout out today to these three, who chose not to go south last fall, and who have somehow made it through multiple -20 to -30 days and nights. They’ve even chased the blue jays away from my feeders. Love every time I see them.

I’m so fortunate to live right next to the Superior National Forest. Our public lands are such a critical resource.

I gotta say, the wild turkeys up north are so much more docile than they are in the twin cities. Didn’t even try to attack the car.
