maybe his best novel tbh ceaseless barreling plot rendered in his tightest ever prose, some really nasty bits

kinda fun but i think guy was more interested in writing about the paris commune than werewolves

both straub novels i’ve read have been really enjoyable mid, ghost story definitely better than this one though

yeah same pretty much all hollywood and japan with a handful of european productions. japan especially was really throwing some heat though wow

i used to fetishize silent technique so much and i still love it but at this point there are a lot more 30s movies i care about. actually a lot of my favorite silents are from the 30s too
