If I hover my mouse over a video on youtube it registers as viewed and in my history tab. This feels like Facebook/X level "views".
I'm an old school web browser based view (mostly). But I'm also a YT Premium user.

I remember making an over the top teenager argument in history class about how the Check and Balances were bad because in a 2 party system, 1 party in power could just ignore all laws and ruin democracy. My history teacher said that people would never vote people into power who would do that.

The US shift towards appeasing Russia will lead to militarization of Europe and elsewhere - including Nuclear Proliferation. Its no longer unreasonable to feat the US would hang its NATO allies out to dry.

I think the thing people are not talking about is that the President of the United States for the first time in history is easy to reach and manipulate via the way he consumes information.
Not from the CIA, NSA, and US Military but from public social media, full of foreign agents and manipulation.

I don't want to diminish all the bigotry, oppression, and assorted non-sense ... but the weaking of the Federal Government and our Global relationships (influence) is going to be the thing that makes Americans live worse over the next 20 years. Its a literal gift to adversarial world powers.
