A few kids have died while riding those scooters here in Finland so the government has been cracking down on them slightly. I'd prefer they went away entirely.

It is basically unusable anyway. The main feed is full of rage baiting freaks and the replies are all bots or people with enough exposure to lead that they write like bots. It has become an amalgamation of the worst parts of Facebook, 4chan and Tumblr. Really beggars belief just how bad it is.

When I moved to Finland 8 or so years ago, I was shocked to discover that Friends is massively popular here. You would think the combination of a language/culture barrier + Friends being bad would not make for a popular TV show.

Twitter is useless and the numbers you see there don't matter. The algorithm prioritises antagonistic dog shit from people stupid enough to pay for a blue check, and suppresses links and normal people. It's also absolutely flooded with bots. It's Facebook tier. Bluesky is fine.

People have already radicalised because a large chunk of the population is media illiterate and unable to handle exposure to the internet. Evidently it doesn't really make a difference what people with functioning brains do.

I think I've spent about this many hours in Dota 2, FFXIV, Path of Exile, and Old School Runescape each now. I don't think I really regret it as much as I do the drinking that would often happen at the same time.
