A couple of the reasons are the Reconstruction wasn’t pursued aggressively enough and the federal gov allowed Jim Crow laws & the KKK to effectively disenfranchise African-American voters. The South remained an agrarian economy that didn’t value education and mythologized their “Southern heritage.”

That the media couldn’t report on this encounter with Milley and the fact that Trump thought having advisers who told him “no” was why his 1st term failed & come to the conclusion that Trump surrounded himself with people who will let him shoot protesters is another example of how the MSM failed us

I don’t know all the facts behind Nixon’s National Guard firing on and killing students protesting the Vietnam war at Kent State, but its looking like Trump wants to repeat those mistakes in several “blue” cities across the nation

Not only has cutting food aid unnecessarily cost many lives and will continue to do so, it’s hurting American farmers whose crops used to be purchased by USAID. American farmers voted for their unsold crops to rot, so as far as I’m concerned they can pay their bills with the “Gulf of America”

I’ve been saying it’s going to take a general strike since January and nothing I have seen, especially in light of Johnson refusing to swear in Grijalva, has given me hope that Trump will leave office peacefully

I don’t think Johnson or Trump will allow them to be sworn in and the Supreme Court won’t force them to. It’s going to take massive general strikes that shut the country down. MAGA and Trump will use violence to shut down the protests. We cannot shrink when the moment calls for boldness

For the Trump admin, as we see with climate change, pollution, food safety, disease, weather, poor jobs numbers and a collapsing economy, if we don’t know about it, it isn’t happening 😒
