I’ve been wondering how the adaptation would be because the book is a whole lot of sex scenes strung together. I mean, it’s a great book and has emotional depth but it’s also basically a record of their hookups over the years.

I haven’t read it yet, but a friend did and raved about it for weeks, so I gave you my vote!

I haven’t seen it since it came out, but had read the book prior. I loved the book because it wove the two women together. The movie felt like 2 separate films. That said, loving that you are putting so much care into discussing these films, even when the ep is longer than the movie itself 😂💜

It was too good. Basically a banger from beginning to end. And poor Angie, but Mary staying by her side was very endearing.

Don’t know if you have any spare time but highly recommend tours from jonathanweisstours.com I was there last year and did 2, the dark history and voodoo tours. Not kitschy, legit historical and fascinating. Voodoo tour is done by a practicing voodoo priest. Would do more from him in a heartbeat.

I’m biased but October birthday (specifically Halloween) for the win. Have lived on both East and west coasts and it’s great weather (no longer hot, just getting crisp). Plus it’s a holiday birthday with built in fun, but no stress (no presents or big meals to worry about).
