Highly entertained right now by my parents in another room talking about a potential Christmas gift for me. My mom is clearly trying to keep her voice down so I won't hear, but my dad keeps asking her to repeat things + saying stuff like "YOU'RE TRYING TO GET TICKETS FOR WALLACE FOR WHAT?"

Cats (2019). Something broke, and the movie just... stopped playing, somewhere a little bit before Taylor Swift's scene. I remember the silence eventually being broken by some exchanges of "this might be for the best."

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.

It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

TIL that the copy of "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" I read as a child, which was printed in the 60s, isn't the same version of the story that many other people have read. It's been many years but it does clear up a couple of old misunderstandings to know I literally read a more racist book.

I'm seeing reports that "rude" is one of the labels that defaults not just to "warn" but to "hide", which is bonkers.
Be sure to go through the immediately visible labels, the ones where you have to click the "Bluesky moderation" labeler, _and_ the special "adult content" checkbox.

If you aren't seeing skeets from some of your fave people, they might have been labeled "Rude" by bsky mods. Idk what they are thinking, I don't need a mommy to tell me who to be buddies with. Anyway, go into Settings > moderation > bluesky moderation (advanced) and turn Rude off.
