Caving means the Democrats now own the shutdown. It’s stupid. The Medicare waiver allowing telehealth visits is tied to the CR. I have patients who have been stressed, inconvenienced, and missed out on care - and now it’s been for NOTHING. Dems hurt these people for NOTHING. 😡

It isn’t. They have to purchase insurance on the DC exchange. They pay the employees’ portion of the total premium, like any other federal employee does.

Absolutely not a good reason. It’s a short term win in exchange for a long term loss. The GOP is on the ropes. Wildly unpopular. Dems have the mojo after Tuesday’s elections. And now all of the disruption of the past month+ will be for nothing.

When my eldest grandgirl was about 3, I walked in on her teaching my son’s void cat how to pop the “childproof” latch on the nightstand drawer that held my medication and the cat treats. “You put your wittle paw hewe & PUSS!” Damned if he didn’t learn how to do it.

It was wonderful! I was busy for 3 days getting things done & going swimming. Today, I rested & napped, mostly. 😊
