A very moving obituary for Louise Vincent by
@nabarund.bsky.social. Few did more than Louise to advance the movement of harm reduction and change the narrative of drug use. opioiddatalab.ghost.io/rip-louise-v...
RIP Louise Vincent, harm reduction hero & visionary
We lost a brilliant soul this weekend in North Carolina. Louise was a strong voice in advocating for the dignity of people who use drugs. 💔

This #NationalRecoveryMonth is about celebrating recovery your way. There is no right way or single path. People thrive when they are given the choice to blaze their own trail and find what works for them.

Cuts to Medicaid means millions stand to lose essential health coverage. 80% of Boulder Care patients seeking recovery from opioid and alcohol addiction are covered by Medicaid. You cannot slash Medicaid and also claim to be fighting America's overdose crisis.

👋 Boulder Care here. We are in partnership with Medicaid plans to ensure patients with substance use disorders retain their coverage. Companies like ours (treating 80% Medicaid patients) must innovate new solutions and work with Medicaid to protect our patients.
Why aren't Medicaid expansion states discussing using AI to quickly simplify all qualification and requalification requirements that will cost 10m people their coverage ?

Why aren't Dems pushing solutions that blunt many of the obstacles introduced to reduce coverage ?

Today Medicaid Turns 60. That's 60 years of providing essential health coverage to millions of Americans. The promise to care for every American regardless of their income is under threat by new legislation. There is still time to make noise save Medicaid from disastrous cuts.

Just 1 out 5 people with opioid addiction receive gold-standard medications like buprenorphine or methadone. Boulder is focused on changing the status quo and increasing access to life-saving addiction medicine. www.boulder.care/get-started

15 miles: the average one-way distance that patients with opioid addiction have to travel to get to a methadone clinic. Patients in rural areas report traveling over 60 miles for care. There simply is not enough addiction medicine out there. Telehealth can help fill these gaps.

At Boulder, patients who have seen a Peer have an 81% retention rate at 6 months. Our data show that Peers play a critical role. But, there’s a dearth of literature about peers in telemedicine. Our newest white paper offers insight into the how and why. being.boulder.care/articles/the...
