the ones who are into oathbreaking, treachery etc (the Lannisters et al) are going to lose.

It’s also a key theme of ASOIAF that you should do the right thing even when it’s not easy, and the main characters grapple with this constantly. That doesn’t scream “edgelord parody” to me.
