this cat is so much more rambunctious than my previous one (RIP lil dumplin) was at the same age. I’m having to get toddler-proof cupboard locks and a suction-cup water bowl. (when he gets the zoomies & careens around he often knocks his water over.) but then he does this right next to my desk:

there’s a single, tiny watermelon growing in the garden where I volunteer! fingers crossed it actually survives long enough to harvest…rats or squirrels have already nibbled on a couple of cukes (and a soaker hose)

friends had to cancel 4th of July plans but I grilled the balsamic-marinated tofu & veggie kebabs anyway. great with some couscous, feta cheese, cucumber, and extra balsamic drizzle, plus a grilled pecan-stuffed apple for dessert (I was too hungry to take more pictures) 🍽️

Update: Freddy is probably 8-9 months old and “seriously, very cute” according to the vet. He likes to keep me company, whether it’s on the couch, on the rug doing yoga, or in the mysterious place with the water.

My favorite farmer’s market vendor had a $25 for a pick-your-own flat of plants deal today…so of course I had to.
The marigolds and a couple herb seedlings will go to the community garden tomorrow. 🌱🪴🥰
