Finally watched American Psycho for the first time (despite having seen the majority of the film in gif form thanks to @patbateman17.bsky.social).

Jared Leto gets chopped up with an Axe in the first 1/3 of the film.

10/10, would watch again.

S2 E19 Lifesigns

Interesting follow up to an episode about assisted suicide. A woman who'd rather die than live with her disease. Asks what gives life meaning, especially when one's life is full of suffering.

It's some of the best romance Trek has ever done, frankly. It's lovely.

S2 E18 Death Wish

One of the very best Q episodes (perhaps 2nd only to Tapestry). Meeting another Q is great. Fascinating glimpse into the Continuum. A meditation on immortality and assisted suicide. Thought-provoking. I have nothing but praise for this.

S2 E17 Dreadnought:

Solid episode. Good character development for B'elanna. Not much to explore ideologically, except to say that we're responsible to mitigate harm caused by our own actions.

I think this is the first time Janeway orders a Voyager Self Destruct. Surely not the last.

S2 E16 "Meld"

This is truly excellent. A Vulcan mind melds with a violent sociopath. What will that do to him? Played straight, not for laughs. Real exploration of violence and emotional suppression. I've always thought this episode was great.

The B plot sucks, though.

Okay, I've been rewatching Star Trek Voyager and I just saw Threshold (first time since it aired, probably).

Its... Pretty bad. Kinda so bad its good. I can at least laugh at it. And the first 1/3 of it is a solid premise.

Certainly not the worst Trek episode ever.
