1. Listen to the sample on the opening track To Pimp A Butterfly. Juxtapose that against Samuel L. Jackson’s character in Django Unchained. Simultaneously, juxtapose that image against Jackson as uncle Sam.

2.57 am: I just had dinner comprising a glass (two) of white wine and an omelette. I see the appeal in going against the traditional circadian rhythms, fellow nocturnals - but I doubt it’s sustainability. 🥱

Scholarship impacts everyday practice. Working alongside authors of articles in Vol. 73 of @lrtmp.bsky.social, to articulate how research can be used to leverage on-the-ground literacy practices has been tremendously rewarding. Massive kudos to @anna-phd.bsky.social and @edunowlab.bsky.social 🥳

Friendsgiving 2024 stats:
- we had 2 turkeys, 5 side dishes, 14 kinds of desserts, 3 types of wine & 2 types of beer
- we hosted 19 people, who contributed 24 different items
- We made approx 3 trips to Walmart, and spent nearly 21 hours buying ingredients & cooking the food

Spent the evening baking four phenomenal cheesecakes for a Friendsgiving tomorrow. Can’t wait for everyone to have some tomorrow! Far away from home, these gatherings matter more than words alone can express. But first, bed time. 💤
