Self-care: instead of scrolling social media, I’m going to spend the next month obsessively checking the bidding on David Lynch’s golf clubs.

My Substack of March gigs just hit. Give it a read if you want to hear some thoughts on Inhaler, Joe Russo's Selcouth Quartet, DARKSIDE, Horsegirl, and Melvin Seals.

Forgot to post this earlier, but I've decided to bring back my Substack on live shows in a new, monthly format. A bit more manageable than the previous pace. Please subscribe and share if you're interested!

look I know the country is collapsing and that's important but also... what's your favorite album of 2010?

I don’t know what other arguments I can make to encourage you to delete your Spotify and listen to music literally any other way
This is beyond f**ked now.

Spotify was already pushing it with the whole "no pay-out for any song with less than 1,000 streams per year"

No pay-out for any artist with less than 1,000 monthly listeners is remarkably abusive and exploitative toward small artists

This might be a brand new sentence but I successfully secured Nine Inch Nails and Goose tickets this morning.

Think I'm going to start posting an Album of the Week every week for the rest of the year.

This week's is Ethel Cain's Perverts. Technically an EP, but nearly 90 minutes. It's sometimes scary, often frustrating, and a hard left turn, but also a genuinely cool listen.

I am on a delayed flight to Tallahassee for work, I should be at Phish NYE!

Close to finishing up the hardest, dumbest, and most aggravating week of work in my few years at this job. My main regret is I didn't spend more on System of a Down tickets to make myself feel better.

These are my favorite and most listened to albums of 2024. This was the toughest year of the decade so far to cut down to the arbitrary 49.

They're playing Swamp Dogg in the country music hall of fame, and I think people are scared.

Doing the math on how many albums on the end-of-the-year list I can share with Stereogum and still consider myself a unique person.

SPAC (and other Live Nation venues) banning outside lawn chairs is one of those things that, were it happening in another country, should cause huge backlash.

Instead, people here will bite, shell the extra $15 over, and forget something was ever taken from them.

My live show week is back-to-back Mount Eerie and Disco Biscuits shows, which is weird enough, but not nearly as weird as it could've been, since Godspeed You! Black Emperor postponed their gig on Friday.
