Duck hunting has been slow as migration has not picked up yet. Local birds all gone. Now waiting for the 1st push of migrators from the north.
But at least I got 1 duck on this hunt. Its better than nothing.

Lots of hunting and fishing adventures in the last week! 2 trips for early teal and 1 trout fishing trip where our nephew caught a fat 16 inch rainbow trout

Caught some huge bluegill this morning and a couple small mouth bass. This lake is a non motorized lake tucked away deep in the woods. I have only ran across 1 other person fishing on it in the 4 years I've been going out there.
Can't wait for supper tonight! The fillets were so thick!!

Caught some huge bluegill this morning and a couple small mouth bass. This lake is a non motorized lake tucked away deep in the woods. I have only ran across 1 other person fishing on it in the 4 years I've been going out there.

We traded our old bass boat in for an upgrade. Loving this boat. We got it out this last weekend and absolutely love it much more than our old bass boat.

Duck island is complete and now ready to start getting our small pond set up to flood and make it bigger.
This little island has a duck house. It is a 3ft x 7ft island. Nothing real big but hopefully enough that the ducks will approve once its all flooded and the island is surrounded by water.

The wife and I both caught northerns on a lake that is a gold mine for fishing. You can only take a canoe or kayak on it. We always catch huge pan fish. The northern I caught snapped my line.
I did catch the biggest perch I've ever caught in my life. I wish I had gotten a photo of it. 😞

I caught a decent bass today while out in the canoe pan fishing. My friend Rachel caught a huge ass black crappie!!!!

Worked on boat yesterday. Got stickers on only to find the old paint job is peeling and now my new stickers are falling off. Guess I'll do a whole new paint job on it next year. Lol. Too many other projects to deal with this year.

I've been hitting the trout streams as much as I can. Trout is one of my favorite fish to eat aside from Burbot and Halibut.

Forgot to get a photo but OMG. I made nutmeg and cumin encrusted venison loin with sweet and sour cabbage. Absolutely fabulous.

I made duck stir fry last night with a couple wood ducks I got during the fall hunting season. I forgot to get a photo of the actual stir fry and BTW...it was so delicious. But this is the duck marinading. I can not wait to make this again.
