I call East Yorkshire home. My wife and I escape the winter in England each year in Spain, mainly the Costa de la luz, particularly Conil de la Frontera.
I play Irish trad music (concertina) with friends.
I am an avid fly fisher for trout and grayling.
Realmente disfrutando viviendo en España. La comida es tan mucho mejor. La oportunidad tomar desayuno en caféterias, sentiendo afuera en el sol se parece mágico.

Following a high Haemoglobin A1c measurement, I had to take action. Reduced carb intake drastically (beer, marmalade, bread). Exercising more. Have lost at least 8 kgs, so BMI is improving.
Next HB A1c measurement is in April.

In Málaga and Cádiz, no air conditioning in the hotels, 'cause it's winter! Phew! Sticky nights. As a northern European - it's hot. Just not used to it I guess.

Learning Spanish. More confusion interacting with an hispanohablante. I ordered Manzanilla in a hotel bar, saw that what was being prepared was a tea (infusión) of camomile. I wanted a sherry (vino de Jerez). Both are called Manzanilla. I was in Málaga. in the costa de la luz wine would be assumed.

Staying in Spain awhile. Arrived early December, heading home mid April. Main base is in Conil de la Frontera, east of Cádiz. In Málaga and headed over to Ronda, but kept going into the Sierra de Grazalema, until we reached a little end of the road pueblo: Montejaque.
Go off the beaten track

A new Spanish culinary experience: Toast spread with garlic mayo, avocado and topped with smoked cod drizzled with a good olive oil.
The smoked cod as an alternative to smoked salmon was a revelation.

Restaurante El Mercado, Conil de la Frontera.

I have just completed the transition from Bitwarden to Proton Pass successfully. 374 items exported and imported very simply. Initiated 2FA. All initial tests have worked fine.
That is Proton Mail, Proton Calendar, Proton Pass, & Proton VPN all working on the free plan. Now considering a paid plan.

In Spain a few months. We are blown away by the quality/value of the restaurant meals. Today we had a 'salad' of cooked peppers, onions, quality tuna (cold) and walnuts. Toast with avocado and smoked cod, an aubergine roll filled with beef, with a rich tomato sauce + other dishes + Wine ++ €45 for 2
