It's Christmas Eve! My plans for today are a big walk for both of us, snacks (ditto), and knitting and The Fellowship of the Ring.
When I was clinical, I worked a lot of Christmases. I feel so privileged to be able to spend this period with Annie doing things that we enjoy.

We're still readjusting to being back home after a wonderful break at The Wheatsheaf in Beetham - I can't recommend this place enough. Such a warm welcome, excellent food, lovely rooms, and lots and lots of history! Just perfect.

I've been having lots of early nights and I love it. Even after nearly a decade out of clinical practice, I'm still so delighted to sleep in my bed at night rather than being on duty, and to have A Lovely Routine which isn't disturbed by shift work.
