Not sure Nico G is a man for dropping into a ropey situation. Reijnders same point.

Not a man to bring on for the battle.

No one can moan. Been absolutely terrible in some recent games and it’s a 6 point gap. Only themselves to blame for not being level or better.

Genuinely unacceptable.

Worst half of the season.

Really don’t think we will see those two together very often

Nico G looked really lightweight in there

CBs the big positives. Thought Oreilly was superb when he came on. Obviously so much better with Rodri on the pitch. Haaland absolutely had to score that chance. Foden looks tired.

Gonzalez very half arsed attempt to close down Mitoma and very soft ball going through him initially

Like the most unbelievable not given in real time decision of all time
January 7, 2026 at 8:18 PM
He’s also weirdly good at really powerful flat long balls up to Haaland or into dangerous spaces behind which adds a whole other dynamic

Yeah think legitimate argument to just prioritise running power and chuck the young lads on but we all probably know that wasn’t gonna happen

Injuries/AFCON defo saved Foden and or Cherki from being hooked. On a different note, will obviously go completely unmentioned by wider audience who have a narrative he was a flop signing based on 10 mins v Chelsea on debut, thought Khusanov was great as he usually is

Decision making at final third was horrific today. So many passes undercooked from Cherki. Foden not playing the right pass. Haaland looked absolutely fuming a few times.

Physicality must be too much of an issue for Pep to get over with him. Makes the new contract seem odd.
January 4, 2026 at 7:39 PM
Fodens touch, coupled with Cherkis non-chalant style of passing/touches that when they don’t come off really aren’t a good look. Decision making from both was well off also. Last 20 mins legs absolutely gone in the side, usually two passes would have Chelsea through the press
