We’re way past weird now. He is weird, and not in a good way, but he’s also dangerous. If you were a real patriot, you’d recognize that.

I suspect you are not okay. Thoughts and prayers.

You know this how? What is “vast”? Can you not admit to even the slightest amount of over reach in ICE’s tactics? Does the misdemeanor of being in the country illegally require being tackled, zip tied/handcuffed, and dragged away without counsel or ability to contact anyone. Might be excessive?

He sort of did get those numbers, just not the way he would probably want.

Why are we not all wearing masks again?

Back in the 70s and 80s, SPI used to have a section in the back of their magazine, Strategy&Tactics, that proposed new wargame titles and asked for feedback on it. I think they used that data to inform new wargame projects. I always enjoyed reading the proposals. Question: where do they advertise?

Hard to say if ancient reasons for it are still valid, but those reasons are maybe all we’ve got to support monogamy as a legal framework. We already skirt it with serial monogamy and old fashioned cheating, if polygamy were legalized? Don’t know, but increased violence would be the ancient concern.

Monogamy is not recent. You can only see the benefit for women if you explore the counterfactual extrapolated from societies preceding our own. In past societies (and some remote ones today) death rates d2 violence, for both men and women, were far higher, fighting over women was a primary driver.

I think monogamy is a cultural innovation to reduce violence, specifically, violence perpetrated by masses of sexually frustrated males on a scale much greater than our incel population. To that extent, females do benefit, though there is the tradeoff of being stuck with a less-desirable mate.
