This run-down railroad trestle bridge, photographed on October 25, 2009, has since been demolished in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania.

I do not have an exact date for this photograph, but I believe I captured this image in Yellowstone National Park sometime around 1991-1992 during a trip to Utah with the family. The film camera I used to snap this photograph is long gone; it was a Nikon Zoom*Touch 300 35mm point & shoot. It was here, if memory serves me correctly, I was on a bicycle having a look around on when I heard something snarling\growling - - all I remember is "bear!" and started full steam pedaling back down the hill to get out of there like a bat out of hell. Good times.

I photographed this fallen tree on June 17, 2023 while hiking a wooded trail at Ohiopyle State Park: What an enormous number of rings! I should have counted them to estimate the age of this once magnificent tree.

I knew this morning’s sunrise was going to be extraordinary just by the way the sunlight reflected off the opposite wall when I lifted my head from my morning work. I turned around, and I had the absolute pleasure of seeing this: Just wow. That’s all I can really say here.

Photographed on May 15, 2021, this is a Northern view of Slippery Rock Creek from McConnells Mill State Park, located in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania. Unfortunately, rain proceeded the day before, so the waters are a bit muddy here.

Photographed back on June 6, 2020, this inviting view of the Youghiogheny River in Ohiopyle State Park sure does make me long even more for the beautiful Summer season. I am so not a Winter person!

Captured on August 6, 2022, this photograph of the Youghiogheny River Lake in Confluence, Pennsylvania, serves as a nostalgic reminder far more pleasant weather and much more comfortable times. I took this photo using an iPhone 12 Pro Max. It’s a really scary situation we’re watching unfold in the world these days. Not good.

Sunrise I photographed on Monday, January 5, 2026: Every sunrise is so vivid and unique, and quite honestly, I eagerly anticipate this time of day every morning! I never know what beauty awaits me from up here each morning!

Shot on February 6, 2010, this snowfall ended up being quite the event around these parts; my employer at that time told us all to stay home and not risk coming in for the next several days. I was ok with that, too! I remember this like it was only yesterday. I love to look at snow, but I very much dislike being out in it!

If memory serves me correctly, I believe this is the Fort Henry Bridge (near what was once the former location of a restaurant named “Uncle Pete’s”) which spans over the Ohio River via Interstate 70 (If I am wrong, please let me know). I shot this photograph back on September 5, 2010.

From June 8, 2024, a reminder of warmer times with vivid green leaves and a bright blue Summer sky. I can’t wait for Summer to return! The older I become, the less I like Winter.

Daily writing prompt Do you spend more time thinking about the future or the past? Why? View all responses I find myself frequently reflecting on the past... a lot. It appears that reality has undergone significant changes over the past few years. Interestingly, I’m not alone in this observation. When I spoke to a few of my colleagues, they shared my sentiment, agreeing that something has indeed changed; but like me, they are unsure of what it actually is.

I spotted this light pole loaded with various stickers yesterday while out picking up a few things.

While visiting with my Mom, I watched this deer nibbling on fallen seed.

We took a trip down to Maryland to see the missus' oldest daugher for the weekend. While there, we all took a tour of the Nemour's Estate. What an experience it was to tour this magnificant place! Created by Alfred I. duPont for his second wife, Alicia, this magnificent mansion, designed by architects Carrère and Hastings, spans an impressive 47,000 square feet and boasts a grand total of 77 rooms.
