Retired law prof, political junkie, nature lover, Yooper to the bones. Been around the block a few times, tread a bit worn. I read history & philosophy, listen to jazz & blues, watch b/w noir & screwball comedies. Go Blue!
Exactly. He’s a stone cold CIA killer who was employed in a paramilitary death squad. Who wouldn’t have PTSD and other mental health issues after that?

As a Medicare recipient, I’m no longer so keen on Medicare for all. We need something better: a true National Health Service that covers 100% of hospital and medical care.

Love it! Can’t the DC City Council rename Pennsylvania Avenue “Obama Avenue”? I’d love to see Trump have to print new White House stationery with the address “1600 Obama Avenue”. (Nothing against the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, mind you, but they’ve had their moment in the sun).

It will never actually happen and Trump knows it This is purely performative politics, another stunt for the TV cameras. But there’s a real danger that Trump’s vicious, reckless words will incite some of his unhinged supporters to take matters into their own hands. He’s playing with fire.

Trump’s name will forever be associated with graft and corruption in the nation’s highest office, at one of the lowest points in U.S. history. “Unbelievable graft, like you’ve never seen before! Some say more graft than any President in history. Maybe more than all the Presidents put together!”

This makes all photographic, video, and voice recordings suspect as evidence. How would you prove it’s not an AI-generated fake?

Time for us to step up to the plate and be the Next Greatest Generation, defeating Fascism on the home front.

He’s always bern a creep and a sexual predator. He actually boasted about it. That much is obvious. I guess the MAGA crowd just didn’t care.

Double entendre?

I certainly agree that some people are just jerks. But sometimes it’s hard to tell.

The prospect of JD Vance becoming president is almost ad terrifying as 3 1/2 more years of Trump.

Don’t be too judgmental. Sometimes all the handicapped spaces are taken and people using mobility-assistive devices need extra room to get out of and into their car.

Trump’s entire life and career are built on an endless stream of lies. I’d like to believe the house of cards is about to collapse, but there’s no logical reason he should have gotten this far. I’ll believe in the collapse when I see it. Until then, it’s wishful thinking.

Murkowski should have thought about the consequences BEFORE she voted for the bill. This sounds totally insincere, a career politician’s CYA move: when you’re getting pressure from both sides, vote for it, then speak against it.

This business of using polygraph tests to root out sources of information that put the SecDef in a bad light is scary. It smacks of Gestapo/KGB tactics to enforce party line propaganda, shut down the free flow of information, and intimidate dissent.

Frankly, I don’t give a damn about the cut of Jeff Bezos’ suit. It’s the obscene levels of conspicuous consumption that I find absolutely revolting.
