The first is a ballad that Christian and I have been playing quite a bit on the tour. “Boomer” is an older tune of mine which we finally made a good, legible version of, after a few requests from folks to make that available.

Some quick news: there are two new tunes of mine available at the online sheet music store. They are "Love is Fragile" and "Boomer." joannkanemusic.com/collections/...

We’ll leave it up for a couple weeks, and then it will go to the sheet music store. Please stay tuned as we will be adding some other sheet music of mine for those who are interested. Thank you! Brad

There’s a big Brahms influence here, particularly from the finale of his Handel Variations, which similarly uses pedal points in octaves surrounded by figuration and melody.

As always, I’d love to hear some pianists play this one! It’s a nice chance to work with the middle sostenuto pedal on grand pianos if that’s available.

Lawrence Azerrad, who's done several of my other records, did a beautiful design. Thank you for listening.

There's a full orchestra on several of the tracks, conducted by Dan Coleman, and also some amazing other musicians, including Chris Thile, Daniel Rossen, Matt Chamberlain, Felix Moseholm, and John Davis, who plays bass and also recorded and engineered the record beautifully.
