There's an obvious reason why today's murder is getting more air time than any of the other murders ICE has committed.

It's always passive voice. "A woman was shot," as if it was an event that just happened on its own. Never "ICE shot a woman." Certainly no context, like, "ICE shot a woman for no reason," or even "ICE shot a woman who inexplicably fled from masked gunmen with no badges."

By the way, we're at 38 trillion now. He's already increased the debt by more in 5 years than Obama did in 8.

It's not rational or irrational, it's rationalization. Everything is okay if he does it.

Pointing out that he's factually or logically incorrect, or self-contradictory, doesn't matter. Being right or wrong doesn't matter to him, only whether he gets what he wants.

If they didn't want to get beaten up by a bully they shouldn't have been carrying lunch money.

That "only" tens of millions of Americans expressed preference for a serial child rapist committing genocide is still pretty depressing.

I don't understand why people old enough to remember congress voting on Iraq would trust congress to make a moral decision now.

They don't want you discussing politics for the same reason they don't want you discussing your paycheck: the people with power over you don't want you comparing notes and figuring out how badly you're being cheated.

Hey, hot take incoming: the senate is inherently undemocratic and the US won't be a true democracy until that foundational compromise is corrected.
January 4, 2026 at 6:53 PM
How can you punish Democrats for failing to swiftly enough fix what Republicans break, except by voting Democrats out so Republicans can break more stuff?

One of those guys kissed the right ass and the other didn't. Should have sold your country out when you had the chance, idiot.

He's testing this out on unpopular heads of state first. Before you know it, wars of conquest will be an everyday event.

Come on in, fellow frog, the water's fine.

The message is that you can either bend the knee or get black bagged.

Panama and Iraq happened in living memory. We never had moral standing.

This is exactly what happened to Noriega, it's what would have happened to Hussein if he'd been less good at hiding. It's not that this is an unprecedented overstep, it's a perfectly normal overstep for Republican administrations.

Ironically, vapid journalists who don't understand, curate, or present insight into their subject matter would be the easiest and first to be replaced with vapid chatbots.

Other notable O'Neill positions:

- The Free Market will lower prices.

- The FDA should not take into account whether medicine actually works when approving it for sale.

Let's be fair, he has plenty of experience being an MBA telling doctors how to practice medicine. He was a deputy secretary of HHS for Dubya, too, and CEO of an immortality research lab. He's always been a policy ghoul for billionaires.

All the rich old men who run the world took a vote and were unanimously against being subject to the same consequences for violence as poor people.

That's democracy in action.

How many corpses deep do we need to be before we call it what it is? This is another Holocaust in motion.

Even by the strict standard of the perpetrator confessing in as many words that they are doing a crime that is illegal, the man has been recorded on several occasions bragging about molesting underage girls.

If "grab them by the pussy" didn't convince you in 2016, you don't want to be convinced.

I notice everyone is in a hurry to prosecute Bondi for covering for pedophiles and no one's talking about prosecuting the pedophiles she's covering for.

So I guess it turns out she's actually good at her job of covering for pedophiles?

Why would he hesitate? The last guy got away with it clean.
December 19, 2025 at 3:48 AM
And yes, I have been voting against these guys, and yet we're still here. Sorry for being bitter and hopeless about it.
December 18, 2025 at 9:31 PM
The answer is no, by the way. And I have no reason to believe that this will change when this one guy is gone. The people who should have been stopping him will let him get away with it, and they'll let the next guy get away with it.
