Excited to share our new eLife paper from our lab's first Ph.D. graduate, Dr. Justin Campbell! In this paper, Justin explored the effects of direct electrical stimulation to the human amygdala on single-unit activity throughout the brain. We'd love to hear your thoughts!
Human single-neuron activity is modulated by intracranial theta burst stimulation of the basolateral amygdala
Firing rate analyses revealed neurons throughout the hippocampus, amygdala, orbitofrontal cortex, and anterior cingulate cortex in humans that exhibited heterogeneous responses to intracranial theta b...

🚨 New lab paper!🚨

A dream study of mine for nearly 20 yrs not possible until now thanks to NIH 🧠 funding & 1st-author lead @seeber.bsky.social

We tracked hippocampal activity as people walked memory-guided paths & imagined them again. Did brain patterns reappear?🧵👇

Human neural dynamics of real-world and imagined navigation - Nature Human Behaviour
Seeber et al. studied brain recordings from implanted electrodes in freely moving humans. Neural dynamics encoded actual and imagined routes similarly, demonstrating parallels between navigational, im...

🚨 🧠
We have a new preprint out where we studied which brain networks are engaged during mental imagery and self-generated thought.

We used a precision fMRI approach along with multidimensional experience sampling (mDES) to get trialwise self-reports from each participant about what they imagined.

The CAPTURE project aims to combine wearable mobile recording devices, such as smartphones with continuous A-V, accel, GPS, subj report, autonomic physiology, and wearable eye tracking recordings, with precisely synchronized iEEG recordings during truly real-world behaviors!
