Technically it is a labeler that labels brands. You can subscribe to the labeler and choose to hide brand posts from accounts we have labeled. And you can report brand accounts to us.

Brand block separates pro sports teams and brands. You can choose to hide one and not the other, both, or neither.

This is a labeler. It cannot block. And you can use it or not. That is your free choice.

The labeler cannot block, despite the name. It can only label.

Forgot to add:

- nonprofit, public interest orgs will not be labeled

- government accounts will not be labeled

- community sites, fan groups, local organizations, political interest groups will not be labeled

- official accounts for software tools etc will be labeled as Brand or Service

This labeler relies on subscriber reports. There is no automation currently.

To request an account to be labeled, use the default Report Account feature and report it to the Brand Block labeler with a report type of “Other”.

Reports will be reviewed periodically (~1x/day).

This labeler is unconcerned with impersonation accounts or parody accounts.

Reports will only be considered if an account has verified their identity through a publicly-accessible domain by changing their handle. In other words, *.bsky.social accounts will not be considered.

This labeler has no influence on Bluesky moderation decisions and is not influenced by such decisions. It is an independent service.

This labeler will not be doing content labeling. The focus is only on the account.

- Service providers (e.g. ISPs, telcos, the Bsky official account) will be given the Service label.

- Blogs will not be labeled

- Corporate brand accounts (e.g. a hypothetical Taco Bell account) will be given the Brand label

- Individual creators will not be labeled, even if they have a domain as a handle.

- Media/news outlets will not be labeled.

- Sports teams/orgs will receive the Sports Team/Club label.
