I don’t disagree with any of that! But nobody thought anyone was going to be moved until it became obvious. That’s more of what I was talking about.

Tkachuk, PLD, Marner, Rantanen, Eichel. All of those guys were moved/signed as a FA. Is there one of those types of players available right now? Maybe, maybe not. Is Dallas still trying to move Robertson? I don’t think the Caps will be true cup contenders for ~10+ years.

My big thing is that he’s likely going to walk to a division rival in two years and they aren’t a Quinn Hughes away from a Cup. They are a forward version of Quinn Hughes away from being true contenders.

Can he play forward? I think every team should be in on Quinn Hughes. No issue checking the price, but doesn’t mean you have to pay the price.
