I'm not a fan of this deal in any way. Republicans are never going to vote to reinstate health care subsidies, so getting a promise to vote means nothing. Writing a law to stop Trump from firing rehired fed workers will work as well as the other laws Trump ignores.

If the GOP needs Democratic votes, they should pick up the phone and ask what concessions they would need to make to get Democratic support. They're so used to Democrats just caving that they have no plan for when Democrats refuse to simply roll over and support their plan without any concessions.
