even if that developer does like gen AI, he's only been at capcom for a few years and it isn't in any way proven to be in the company's workflow at large. the interview exaggerates his position to look good

yeah it was a wild fluff piece written to glaze google's AI as much as possible, by their own cloud AI team

the key points are that it was only a test that wasn't used on games and he accidentally admitted in it through subtext that none of the other devs actually want it

we don't know if they're currently using it. what we do know definitively:

- google cloud interview confirms all art assets are made without AI
- all games currently revealed have been made without AI, as ideation occurred before january 2025

it was just testing, not used on games, and the director remarks "feedback was positive from the developers who actually used it", implying most of them didn't actually want it lmao

where a lot of coverage of this claims developers provided positive feedback of this test system, in the original translation he says "of the developers who actually used it".

meaning this was an opt-in thing and it implies that the majority of the developers didn't want to LMAO

looking up the guy's name and he ONLY shows up in articles covering this interview, but the name is in the credits of a lot of releases

of note is that this is a heavily corporatized/sponsored looking interview, specifically to promote google's ai over others
