I think it's keeping everything engaging. The roadtrip takes most of act II and it feels like it's dragging a bit and I haven't even written half of it. We'll see what it looks like when I actually finish this draft, I guess.

I'm playing fast and loose with the selkie lore, and the romance is coming surprisingly easy. It's this roadtrip that really is the problem. It's been hard to keep the pace going well when they're literally just wandering around the US looking at weird roadside attractions lol
