Text from the game Fear and Hunger 2: Termina. Character Daan says the following about the enemy, the Crimson Father: This is pretty weird... The body of the crimson father disappeared upon its defeat. There is only an empty shell left behind. The shell looks fairly typical snail shell to me. But then again I'm not exactly an expert of snails, so it's not 100% accurate information. Text from the game Fear and Hunger 2: Termina. Character Daan says the following about the enemy, Rancid the Sergle: You'll need a veterinarian for this one... I don't think this is a mutation or anything to that nature. It's just an animal, a beast or something along those lines... It did speak though... Maybe it's a bigfoot?

I am quite sure I shared this particular excerpt before, but it fits the prompt and I think it's among my best, so look at it again.

“I can’t,” he mumbled, still rocking back and forth. Still clinging to that strange woman, the way a panicked child might cling to a favorite toy. “I can’t go back to that empty house.” Without the red haze of panic in her vision and the thrumming of adrenaline in her ear, Karin could focus and see the creature for what she was. Her skin was wilted. Peeled in places, discolored in others. Other places still appeared to be patches of someone else’s skin, sewn onto her own body like a fleshy ragdoll. Even her hair, she could see now, was not her own. There were stitch marks crowning her scalp, pinned on her head like a long mourning veil. Another breath, and she bent down. The creature’s eyes were like foggy marbles rolled into her skull. Her mouth was left in an eternal smile, preserved in red crisscrosses over her blackened lips. Karin could see the beginning of buck teeth, underneath the stitches and the ichor. “Daan,” she said again, louder this time. “Look at me.”

Foreshadowing is a narrative device.
Coffins were scattered beside the gate in the last chamber, seemingly discarded, toppled over on another. Signs of age and scratch marks across their wooden surfaces. Karin could not help but study them briefly as they left the passageway; there had been several just like them across the city. They all had chains wrapped around them, a rusted padlock at the top. But why would anyone need to lock up a coffin?

Medical Diagnosis says the following: Player with Diagnosis: “The creature has a sturdy shell-like exoskeleton that seems to protect it from most kinds of attacks. Only piercing and otherwordly powers seem to penetrate the surface effectively. The skin, or the surface layer feels like hardened leather that has burned to crisp. The skin gets thicker towards the head of the creature and which is especially well protected.
