The crazy thing is that his supposed offenses are all largely just "he annoys me." In the grand scheme of things it does not matter! To the extent he's had takes people didn't like, he's not MattY, political elites are not taking cues from him, who cares!

Some Dems seem to think they get brownie points for doing this when the nominees are going to pass anyway. I don't think they actually do (the median voter may be incomprehensible to me but one thing I do know is they don't pay attention) but that seems to be the theory.

MattY in Congress would probably just vote like one of the somewhat more annoying Dems and be completely unremarkable, but he gets clicks for the bait takes so that is most of what he does.
