Who would they shoot at ? There are limits to what an army can do.

If you actually believe this you’ve abandoned all hope prematurely. Nobody who properly understands war and what it means would rush to conflict.

I understand this reaction but I can assure you that escalating will lead to a conflict which will be very hard to stop. I do not want to sound glib about the activities of ICE death squads but I feel there are other avenues of civil disobedience that should be pursued without violence

You’re calling for escalation which will lead to large numbers of people - by the sounds of it probably not you - being killed. If you think that needs to happen, then say it. Don’t hide behind ambiguous calls to ‘resist’.

The understandable instinct is to shoot back. Then the insurrection act is invoked and the army gets deployed, which what Trump wants.
It’s not my place to say but i think state governments need to ally with likeminded states and find ways to impede the general operation of the federal government.

I’m not an american. I am familiar with sectarian conflict though, and this looks a hell of a lot like it. In Northern Ireland soldiers and others were deployed and started kicking about the local population. They decided to arm and hit back, and we got 25 years of low level civil war.
