No One Ever Tells Nazi Punks to **** Off.

An obvious problem today, it was also a problem in the self-proclaimed "anti-Nazi" German Democratic Republic. Unsurprisingly, we keep committing the same mistakes today that they did.

So I decided to begin highlighting this connection:

I used to distance myself from some of the local DSA stuff too. I am still not a member, but they've worked their asses of so much to try and make things better in my city that I don't find it useful to "well actually" them much at all anymore.

*Clarification - This location was not unionized.

But, it is still one of 34 locations where New York baristas lost their jobs just over a week ago. So, we can say with some certainty that Cuomo, and/or his campaign, was oblivious to that.
Here are all 34 Starbucks locations that are closing in NYC—is your coffee shop on the list?

Or, maybe he'll lose a city council race next, since that seems to be the preordained path for disgraced NYC Democratic sex offenders who couldn't redeem their political careers by becoming mayor. But, dunking on him as he falls even further down the political hierarchy might feel even sweeter.

However, we can almost let it go. Because, in 26 days, there is a very real chance that the guy who pickets WITH us will be mayor, and the disgraced former governor who has never given a damn about anyone except himself will finally be gone from NYC politics forever.

Starbucks workers shouldn't be living paycheck to paycheck when CEO Brian Niccol has the highest CEO-to-worker pay gap in the country. It would take only A SINGLE DAY’S sales to finalize fair union contracts. JUST ONE DAY.

Thank you for rallying with us today, @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social ! ✊🔥

Hint, it's probably the guy who spoke on behalf of the baristas just looking to get by last week, instead of the one who claimed he would be "visible" at the one that closed, likely because of said unionization, almost two weeks ago, and whose campaign didn't decide to check.

NYC's Democrat voters already showed that we know who will better represent the unions, the working-class, and all struggling New Yorkers, but this consistent estrangement from Cuomo and his campaign still surprises me even after he's consistently proven he has no idea how the rest of us live. 2/

Last week, @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social joined Starbucks workers that had unionized and are fighting hard for a fair contract.

Meanwhile, Cuomo, claiming that he is finally becoming more "visible," didn't even show up today to the boarded up Starbucks in Harlem his campaign said he would be at 1/

I think the most annoying problem in NYC is that the actual dangers of "E-bikes," which are hardly bikes at all, are mostly enforced by fucking up Citi bikes more to the point that they're less desirable. Although, as a veteran NYC cyclist, it is hard to ever go 15+mph and not be risking your life.

No one who calls themselves an academic should ever fold to a "loyalty oath," no matter what vague risks to funding they might face. It goes against everything higher education and academic freedom stands for.

Please, #AcademicSky, and any other educator, worker, student, alum, etc., sign on.

The only way you can keep believing you're a big, strong, special boy in the Fascist fairy tale land is to keep inventing 'others' that keep you from being a big, strong, special boy.

Excited to hear how his answers compare to the other candidate’s.

It’s also cool of him to show up on time unlike… someone else, given that “Crains Business Leaders” probably aren’t his most welcoming demographic.

It probably makes this “poll” I got look like the gold standard.

If I could have just told people to “do some more research” every time they didn’t like an artist I liked, well let’s just say there would have been a lot more Godspeed You! Black Emperor fans…

Look, I just don’t like Taylor Swift’s music, and that’s ok.

I also didn’t say she was bad! All I’m saying is if she made a new album that many people are saying is worse than previous albums, it probably is! Because every musician with a large catalogue ever has done that.
brendandavey.bsky.social
I guess Deadheads were sort of like this, but they would just keep causally annoying you by saying “ok ok you don’t like them but try listening to THIS 20 minute jam from 1979 and then see how you feel!”

But Taylor Swift’s fans act like I’m dissing their god. It’s wild to me.
brendandavey.bsky.social
That isn’t what I said at all, and your response only supports my point.

You can be a “Swifty” and like all kinds of music, good, bad, my tastes are subjective, who the F am I to say?

But one artist being a core identifier for you compels you to defend them even when they have a “meh” period.

I can’t stress enough that if you are in New York, and have a moment during the week, that you’re being present in these courtrooms, which are a public space, is important. Look up how to join a group that does this, and go with them. Only in our numbers do we have the power to put a stop to this.

Everyone should watch this documentary by Michael Nigro for @therealnews.com.

I’ve seen so much of this in person and this still profoundly affected me. We must pay attention to, and document, the atrocities happening in front of us. For our friends and neighbors, no matter where they’re from.

I agree, but it is frustrating that the old candidate gets a 10-1 spending advantage (and that is being generous) which helps them, usually, reach many more less informed voters.

It was almost a problem in New York. I cannot stress how many Cuomo commercials and flyers there were in May & June.
brendandavey.bsky.social
I think actually competitive primaries are great. However, it is continually disappointing that the main Dem-party candidate is always 1) Moderate to a T and 2) Really goddamn old.

So anyone outside of that mold has to lift mountains to overcome them.

It’s not just America. No one can actually even explain to you what being “French” means. When did the Occitanians, who had a vastly different culture, language, and held a deep animosity towards Paris ACTUALLY become “French?” There is no good answer because it’s all manufactured.
