if you were already doing the GMs, -30 is really not as bad as it sounds, especially with higher tier gear + now you can probably more freely slap a boon on your activities

I have full faith that they will go a long way. The fact that bonus drops didn't match your designed drops in the first place was absurd. And you'll just spend less time "designing" your Portal activity too since you don't have to worry about weird power deltas anymore.

people want the power grind thrown out but that's not gonna stop bungie from just removing the number next to difficulty modes and still keeping you under an invisible delta. the grind also can't be exhausting because you're not building one gear set out like you would a conventional MMO

over the years it's been increasingly apparent that the people behind these changes are either not doing the math properly on what's reasonable for people to engage with or they don't get the time to test them out and adjust accordingly.

perhaps the other thing that doesn't really get discussed at all is that they tried to repurpose the 8-mission cinematic campaign shooter company to an MMO one and they have yet to deliver on a really good MMO functionality

i don't know that destiny's ever kept the power grind the same for longer than a year. there were weird seasons where the jump was bigger or smaller than the season prior. so funny

Hindsight's 2020 but:
- legacy GMs to farm high-tier general gear
- Portal/World Events for simple power grinding
- RaD for the more interesting set bonuses and weapon perks
- seasonal events cheat and do all 3
- a secret fifth thing for economy purposes

It's not a fair comparison to make but man Diablo really does a fantastic job distinguishing each avenue of player power such that there's no confusion on what your current activity contributes towards, while everything still dropping a reasonable amount of potentially interesting loot.

i moved four glyphs on the world's most confusing chinese checkers board and then saw the number 50 million on screen. could not tell you why but i'll be damned if i look up a guide

the diablo 4 paragon board, which consists of several large tile boards attached together where each board has a different configuration of nodes that you can unlock with paragon points, granting you small stat boosts and damage modifiers. there are hundreds of nodes because you are expected to spend upwards of 300 points on it.
