I used to work for a company called Measurex who were bought out by Honeywell in 1997. I still obsess about measurements like how much central heating oil I am using but Honeywell won't pay me for it.

It's nuts that we are not only still paying a toll on the M50 but the charge still goes up. In other countries when the cost of building a motorway is paid the toll ceases. Has been paid for many times now

A funny mistake is saying "high dungeon" instead of "high dudgeon". Dungeons are usually not in the upper storeys though people were often locked in towers. But "dudgeon" doesn't mean the same

We do almost automatic family tracing here when we ask "Where are you from?" Nearly always find a mutual acquaintance if not family.

I guess it's easier, and certainly cheaper, to have AI assess your post and make an algorithmic decision whether or not to bury it than have real people engage.

Had a holiday Aer Lingus flight to Boston cancelled in early July. Still no compensation in sight but have a third party company on the case. Apparently Aer Lingus seem to think that an indirect flight via Newark the next day which entailed a 7 hour wait for the connecting flight to Boston was ok
