I’m disappointed that he didn’t get a chance somewhere. He was mishandled in my opinion. Hopefully he can do well in the AHL and find some interest as a free agent next summer. I will be cheering for him to find success.

Skies over Winnipeg make it feel like the whole city is in a dance club. (Sound on)

Even the song name. “I’m Afraid of Americans”. Is perfect.

I’ve been on Twitter/Bluesky for 13 years and that is the best reply to anything I have ever said. Thank you for the belly laugh.

You even got the colours right. That’s amazing.

I will never understand why motorcycles that can be heard for six blocks in every direction is allowed in cities.

My column today: From residential zoning policy to trees, transit, Portage and Main and others, the summer 2025 was a season of urbanist change in Winnipeg. Some with immediate impact, some with impact in the future, and some are still a work in progress. www.winnipegfreepress.com/opinion/anal...
Opinion: 2025: a summer of interesting urban changes
Over the last few months, the city has been busy implementing several new progressive city-building initiatives to enhance livability in our communities.

By every objective metric Canadian rules create a better game. Per game Points, Touchdowns. Passing yards. Pace of game. End of game lead changes. The NFL is more popular because of media coverage, production values, better athletes, 80,000 seat stadiums. CFL can’t compete with that.

Agreed. And if the best idea they can come up with is to make it look more American it’s in even deeper trouble that we think. In my opinion, they should have gone the other way. Make it even more unique. More Canadian.

I might detest that ambassador more than I do Trump. Stop gaslighting us and just go home. Especially annoying since our ambassador to them is such a brilliant and thoughtful person.

Protest t-shirt at the game today. CFL rules produce more scoring, more passing, more touchdowns, and more comeback wins than the NFL. Turning our backs on a century of history just to look more American on tv is selling out our uniquely Canadian game.

Walked through a few days ago. The opening is going to be amazing. Proud to be part of this project.

Announced changes to the CFL game are embarrassing and disappointing. The answer to making it more popular is not to make the game less exciting just so it can look like it’s American.

Amazing. If anyone builds a time capsule that needs to go in it. Future generations won’t believe what it is. It was amazing how it became so completely normal the very next day.

$350k condo in a vibrant and walkable urban neighbourhood in a city of a million people. Germany intentionally created specialized industry sector hubs in secondary cities, instead of concentrating the economy in a few mega-cities. Could this be a solution to Canada’s affordability issues?

Exciting to listen to Dr. Lloyd Axworthy discuss Rail Relocation in the city of Winnipeg. The first public engagement session in an ongoing provincial study. It will be great to finally have an informed conversation about the costs and opportunities.

Social media was just a bad idea all ‘round. It has destroyed our society.

The discussion about what future homeownership looks like needs to be a bigger discussion. Will young people shift to a desire for missing middle or will the dream always be a house? If it’s the latter, there are likely insurmountable challenges ahead.
