This is a spectacular own-goal in US trade policy. Slap a 50% tariff on Brazilian coffee and then piss of China and cede the entire soybean market to Brazil. And the was completely predictable since it happened during the first Trump administration.

Omg they couldn’t just keep their mouth shut could they. I mean it’s not like good taste and discretion are something these people do. Also of special note - extremely happy for the thumb in the eye that this gives to Richard Grenell who is busy trying to make shady deals with the Maduro regime.
