waiting for Jan. 20 to actually leave Facebook -- suspend the account, I think, rather than delete it
Is it too soon to sing, 'Raheem, Raheem, Raheem Jefferies' a la Talking Heads?

Trying out some signs for No Kings tomorrow. Whaddaya think? "Will demonstrate for food", or, "Imperial March a la Kazoo" (because it's hilarious and ridiculous even thought I don't think I could fit all that on a sign, anyway.) (Hint for those voting between the two: I already have a kazoo.)

Bring kazoos to your local No Kings! demonstration! (the Imperial March (al la kazoo) is hilarious as the cops march by)

I think I'll watch Monday Night Football on ABC tonight for the first time in ages, to demonstrate hope for a good Jimmy Kimmel show where he doesn't do any BS pandering. Nothing to apologize for, but just reiterating 'no offense intended' would be a classy move.

I've never really watched Jimmy Kimmel, but I'm going to start to tomorrow night.

I wish Charlie Kirk was still alive (mostly for the sake of his family). That said, though, Charlie Kirk was a fake, who only PRETENDED to champion debate, while actually employing multiple tactics to de-voice anyone who threatened to "prove him wrong".

It might just be my tendency to be more comfortable alone, but I miss *the-other-social-media-platform-which-must-not-be-mentioned* (a la Voldemort) Wow--correction on my spelling of 'voldemort', but not in my spelling of 'christian' in a previous post. Not at all suspect.

Fun quiz that seems relevant right now: where were you during the Cold War? me first (weird automatic capitalization of Cold War, by the way--not mine) okay, where was I? okay, yeah: waking up to revery at 3 in the morning. I was 8.

Skylink or Starnet or whatever Elon Musk's thing is, and AI learning from itself, and those are 'advancements'? Am I the only one who watched Terminator?

One of my tests is that it's the Mandela effect. (case mistakes intentional, to emphasize that it is a guy's name--not some arbirary reference)

Seattle peeps especially:
No wonder there are coyotes in Ballard; I see rabbits around here all the time. Pretty cool.

Whenever Trump's stupidity threatens to eclipse Bush's (which (admittedly) is constantly), I often struggle to remind myself how horrible Bush was. Remember him asking a voter, "Who cares what you think?"
August 14, 2025 at 11:26 PM
Again, all attention on Pete Hegseth. Because Trump hates anyone who steals his spotlight. He tends to fire them. Fire Pete Hegseth!
August 13, 2025 at 12:55 AM
What have folks heard about the Mandela Effect?
August 13, 2025 at 12:35 AM
I miss informing people that they are wrong. Bluesky ruins that for me.

So, Trump is AMAZED that folks STILL want the Epstein files. Well, guess what, Donald? We STILL want your tax returns, too.

So, it turns out that Putin is an asshole. Whoda thunk?

Fun quiz open to everyone!

Who is the Presidential candidate that a deceased loved one voted for last?

I'll go first!

(okay, maybe not very fun after all)

Textbook. By remaining (mainly) non-violent, the LA 'riots' continue to deny (not to say 'ridicule') the over-reaction of the Trump admin. Straight out of books besides this one, I'm sure.

Whatever you do, don't picture an elephant. And especially do not picture a fat little cowboy riding that elephant. And, no, he does not have a weird yellow cowboy hat that he calls hair that blows up in the wind. Why do I always get that question?

What's the title of that post-apocalyptic novel where they embrace cooperation instead of violence? Anthony Roberts?

Happy Trip Around the Sun Day to my favorite sister: Amy!

I feel guilty for not protesting today. I didn't prepare in advance because I knew I'd have furniture delivered today. That turned out to be over by 10am, but it was too late: I can't cross the street without advance preparation.

FOTUS is playing Risk (the pre-nuke board game). He's going for North America (so Canada and Greenland) while conceding Europe to Putin. (Naturally, Asia goes to the strongmen there.) Beyond just Risk, though--it's all about rare earth minerals!

Who do I write letters to, now that I have finally located myself somewhere with all Democratic representation?
