Today, I’m grateful I bought a g502x mouse (Logitech) for work. Great feel (for right handed people), love the customization and it just looks cool. 😎

Book 6 of 2025 on Jan 25: “Krakatoa” by Simon Winchester. Everything you always wanted to know about a volcanic eruption, its beginnings, history, societal impact and the associated geology. Good read. Footnotes were … notable :)

Book 5 of 2025 on Jan 23 - “Eye of Truth” by Lindsay Buroker. Book 1 of 5 in the Agents of the Crown series. A fantasy world with usual race … plus guns. Author always writes an enjoyable story with engaging characters. Fun read - a bit of a romantasy, but not a bodice ripper, thankfully 😬.

Book 4 finished on Jan 11th as well! “The Rithmatist” by Brandon Sanderson. Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Marry art, geometry in a fantasy world and get Magic! Fun, easy read. Only downside is there is no follow-on book.

Book 3 finished on Jan 11: “Halfcocked” by John P Logsdon and Jean Mitchell. Foreword mentioned humorous like Discworld. It definitely had some slapstick like humor, I found it unconvincing. Premise is an assassin Genie who is assigned as the lead of the San Diego paranormal police. Not for me.

Book 2 finished on Jan 8: “Lou Giroux” by J. E. Jack. A New Orleans police detective who is a werewolf. Nice detective style novel with a ‘film noir’ feel to it. (Urban fantasy genre).

Finished first book of 2025 on Jan 3. “Fiends in High Places” by DC Farmer, book 1 of the Hipposync Archives. Urban Fantasy. Story and setting are entertaining. I just never got into the characters. Perhaps too self-effacing? Not now continuing the series but will be open to book 2 in the future.

I used to post whatever book I just finished reading on twitter, but have not done that for a while. So planning to start up that up again in 2025 here.
