One person's "woke" is another's poignant. I don't like excessive zeal or overly specific messaging in writing, but I don't have rabies against "woke." Moreover, context is everything. This short passage in isolation doesn't back your claim.

Headline is confusing. Is it saying we should outgrow habits? Out grow anyone? Grow anyone, however that could be interpreted?

We tried red and got needless wars, massive deficits, Christo-fascist hate and Clarence Thomas. We tried blue and got a balanced budget, reduced poverty, LGBT+ marriage equality, vast increases for non-polluting technologies, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The "both sides failed" lie needs to stop!

I first read that AI! as "All." That inspired a good one:
Who are we?... BILLIONAIRES!
What do want?... EVERYTHING!

Our attention spans are fought over by our lusts and our compassion. Not proud of my gender when I say compassion didn't win until the 2nd viewing.

Thanks! You've got me looking into this Bull Moose party. It uses a smart strategy clearly designed to avoid unintentionally pushing offices to the right the way the Green candidacies have effectively done with the U.S. presidency.

Greetings. In 2023, I ran in a special election to fill an open Metro Council seat in my city of Louisville, Ky. I advocated reversing our city's regressive taxation to cut Occupational Taxes on workers, and to save our ailing bus system. I didn't win, but I spoke to what no other candidate was.

And in 1971, Rep. Gerald Ford tried to impeach William O. Douglas over a $100 payment he had received for an article Douglas wrote for a magazine. (And, believe it or not, for being married to a much younger woman; Ford actually included that in his litany against Douglas.)

We always hear new tech developments lauded as our liberators arriving. The bad sides are discovered only after we are totally dependent on them. Like Carpal Tunnel injuries. That wasn't supposed to be part of the deal to get personal computing.

I believe that is a correlative, rather than causal relationship. It probably reflects income level, as well as Manhattan's layout being less amenable to car ownership.

I've ridden MARC and it's wonderful news that demand and public support for it are up. Go, MARC!

The US indeed does some things very well, but its cities? Urban development in the U.S. is the worst of our practices.

Way too subjective. And limited. Only touristy and monied sections are discussed in this story. Explore lots of parts of a city. You might learn things USA Today from its distance hasn't.

All of this -- all of it -- was completely preventable if a few people on the left end of the Democratic Party field had not refused to vote for Gore in '00, Hillary in '16 and Harris in '24. Don't hold out for perfection. Make the better choice.

I did child care (compensated by a state program) for 3 autistic, speech impaired children. Today, two of them work and pay taxes. The 3rd has done volunteer work. Two have college degrees.

We had a right winger in our city who in the '90s said the proposed LGBT+ rights ordinance would make our city "another San Francisco." The ordinance soon passed. And our restaurant selection, nightlife and coffeehouse arts scene have greatly improved. No Super Bowl winning football team, though.

Yes, we had such terms as "column inches," and "H and J," but in anything we'd publish, we'd use clear and understandable words. In-house occupational jargon can be okay, but when addressing the public, we would avoid them. That preserves clarity, which helps maintain freedom, such as it still is.

It is an anomaly is one sense -- men flashing nazi salutes in loyalty to their leader have until now been quite good at launching rockets.

We don't turn to English teachers to build rockets and we should not rely on technocrats to determine proper language.

The Democrats need to publicly pressure RFK Jr. to resign. Even pass a resolution calling for him to. It doesn't come down to just whether it would cause him to resign. It would make clear to the public that he is not a legitimate public servant and is unfit to run HHS.
