Amazing how many grammatical errors still get through these days with the software checking that is available - but they still do…and they’re still really irritating.

Surprisingly, the ELMS event last weekend was very reasonable £25 entry for the whole weekend.

A lap round Silverstone - easy! Well, probably not with a new knee - but I'm giving it a go on Friday 12th September.

I'm fundraising for Women's Heartbeat. Check out my @JustGiving page and please donate if you can.

Thank you! #JustGiving

Very disappointed with Silverstone Festival - we went specifically to see a large collection of Group C cars, as promised in the advertising and re-emphasised on the Silverstone Events app (“Expect iconic Jaguars, Porsches, Mercedes”) - none of the above marques were there #FAIL

Overshadowed by VJ Day but not forgotten - Operation Dragoon on 15th August 1944 when French and American forces landed in the Var. #operationdragoon #var #1944 #worldwartwo

I think you’ll be very lucky to find anything so organised from that era - war studies fell into disfavour a decade ago and it’s only recently making a strong comeback under @jfb1066.bsky.social - you could also try contacting Dan Whittingham at @unibirmingham.bsky.social

Mine is that I always hyphenate Field-Marshal as that’s the way it was written in the day. You can find a few contemporary examples of unhyphenated usage but these days the trend is to drop the hyphen.

For the third time this century the government of the USA is about to get involved in a situation it has not taken the trouble properly to understand, which it thinks it thinks it can quickly resolve by using limited military force.
To learn none of the lessons of Iraq and Afghanistan is criminal.

If you need an example of the financial insanity of the National Health Service - this equipment, not all of it actually used, is going to the skip as the hospital that issued it is not allowed to take it back due to the danger of cross-contamination. #nhs #wesstreeting

A superb day that fully got into the geopolitical situation that Robert Bulwer-Lytton took on in 1876 - and where better to hold it that at his family home, @knebworthhouse.bsky.social. @henrycobbold.bsky.social & @hisbpf.bsky.social were perfect hosts.

This went very well and was great fun, many thanks to Henry Lytton Cobbold, most gracious of hosts, and Robert Lyman, moderator par excellence, and our very engaged audience:

Great news - congratulations!

Great looking subject however the ‘academic’ pricing means I won’t be buying it. Bring out a sensibly priced paperback @manchesterup.bsky.social
