I would keep your starting goal low. People are more likely to back a funded campaign since there’s no anxiety that they might now get the item.

I’ve run 27 kickstarters. Typically I fund on day one, gain 20-50% more in the middle of the campaign, and then double what’s been raised so far when the 48hr reminder emails go out. Day one backers are diehard followers, then new people, then followers who weren’t sure but decided to jump in.

There are scenes in the Daughter’s War that still scare me several months on. That and Joe Abercrombie’s The Devils are my favorite reads from 2025.

They should adopt the season/volume format and and number 1-12, then vol two 1-12, and so on.

As for editorial, I’m sure they’re being grilled for poor sales.

I heard there was a secret ooze
It turned four turtles into dudes
But you don't really care for pizza, do ya?

They fought like this,
Two swords, a stick
A couple sai
Some nunchuck tricks
Those Ninja boys-a callin

I’d love to have that confidence. I just started drawing comics, but I do two passes with a loose sketch and then tighter sketch before I do the final art. I don’t trust myself to get what I want unless I work it out a couple of times.

All of my game boxes feature my cartoon bear with the word balloon “it’s good!” Be your own endorsement. You worked hard, you deserve it.

As someone who worked in a hospital in a red state the entire pandemic, that feeling of togetherness was mostly imaginary.
