Centrist politically - equally frustrated by the far left & the far right

Love cinema & theatre - especially comedies The trouble with being a realist in the 2020s is that you can need a LOT of cheering up
Exactly!

That whole thing was a very strange set of events, wasn't it?

Who knows where it may have gone...?
February 7, 2026 at 5:26 PM
Again you're trying to tell me what I think

And you're still coming up with bullshit

Try clearing it out from between your ears first and then you might do better
February 7, 2026 at 5:25 PM
Telling people what they think is never a good idea

Especially when its complete bullshit...
February 7, 2026 at 5:23 PM
Plus Dave doesn't seem to believe that sovereign countries have the right to choose for themselves

Or perhaps he secretly feels they aren't sovereign nations and should be part of Russia too...?
February 7, 2026 at 5:22 PM
Inflation exists

FACT
February 7, 2026 at 5:20 PM
Its a tricky one but, if anything, I think FPTP helps with keeping the crazies out - but its far from a guarantee obviously

And yes, the last part is a valid argument - but then the US has long been understood (at least outside the US) to have a very poor democracy
February 7, 2026 at 5:18 PM
Absolute garbage

As I said to the other fantasist, you're either posting from Moscow or you've listened way too much to others who are...

Total fantasy...
February 7, 2026 at 5:13 PM
And I thought you had zero credibility before

You don't even function in the real world

Totally away with the fairies...
February 7, 2026 at 5:11 PM
Oh God...

Not that old tripe

If you're not posting from Moscow then you've spent far too long listening to people who are

You have absolutely zero credibility in this discussion
February 7, 2026 at 5:10 PM
To a point...

But it does need to massively increase its defence manufacturing & servicing capability or risk losing in a war of attrition
February 7, 2026 at 5:08 PM
Ahhh... So you have no understanding of the nuclear deterrent either. Well, OK, that was evident from your earlier post...

For a start you seem to have no comprehension of the existence of tactical nuclear weapons
February 7, 2026 at 5:06 PM
🤣

Sorry but its a myth? Despite 80 years of direct evidence, every day, demonstrating otherwise!

Genuinely funny...
February 7, 2026 at 5:04 PM
As for the 1st part that's why we need to spend more on defence. Glad you recognise that

For the 2nd that's because again you don't understand the subject

There's no necessary need for involving *strategic* nuclear weapons. Tactical ones maybe? Not helped by our lack of a likewise deterrent
February 7, 2026 at 5:02 PM
Exactly...

It exists to deter strategic nuclear strikes - not land invasions, blockades, air raids, cyber warfare or a dozen other things...

Including potentially, which is a major problem, tactical nuclear strikes which really requires its own deterrent
February 7, 2026 at 4:58 PM
Depends which Europeans, which news agencies and which justice systems...
February 7, 2026 at 4:55 PM
Again, that's just your lack of understanding of what the deterrent is for...
February 7, 2026 at 4:54 PM
I'm afraid that's your lack of understanding of what the nuclear deterrent is for showing

Strategic nuclear weapons are there to prevent the use of other strategic nuclear weapons - NOT conventional conflict or, arguably, tactical nuclear weapons - which we desperately need
February 7, 2026 at 4:53 PM
No. I just use my brain

Republicans have criticized Trump & others have been cowed by fear, which is understandable - he is, after all, a murderer

You're just not interested in facts but in having a mindless rant
February 7, 2026 at 4:49 PM
2/2 Unless addressed, which is barely happening, you eventually reach a point where you have wonderful armed forces but no ammo left to use

Meanwhile a mountain of 2nd class weaponry is heading your way & you are screwed

As the saying goes: "Quantity has a quality of its own"
February 7, 2026 at 4:47 PM
1/2 Because we have thrown much of our ammunition stocks into Ukraine and have not been replacing them nearly fast enough - or, in some cases, barely at all

Meanwhile Russia has been ramping up production year by year
February 7, 2026 at 4:45 PM
Again, exactly right... Even more sadly...
February 7, 2026 at 4:42 PM
Exactly right - sadly...
February 7, 2026 at 4:41 PM
Ukraine is not a part of NATO and NATO has no responsibility to kick Russia out - as desirable as that would be...
February 7, 2026 at 4:40 PM
Funny... I must have missed all the Russian troops goose stepping up and down Whitehall

Do they only do so at night?
