#bsueng490 I suggest actually doing the readings, it’s very easy to get lost in the class if you don’t understand what the reading was about.

#bsueng490 I kind of envy horse girl for being brave enough to pursue freedom from society even though it meant leaving behind the person that meant the most to her.

#bsueng490 I fully support Verna killing that evil evil man, especially after he smirked at her when she mentioned they knew each other.

#bsueng490 This reading was like my actual worst nightmare. Esme and Donna’s husband drove me insane because they kept ignoring how much she was struggling and expecting her to keep cleaning and working.

#bsueng490 I loved the ending of Precious and getting to see Isobel get her freedom from both the curse and that evil evil man.

#bsueng490 really glad Stryker got what he deserved at the end of Snake but it still feels like it wasn’t nearly enough.

#bsueng490 I’m so glad Binti was able to find a friend at the university, I feel like we saw from the beginning how brave she was to go off on her own, but the way that she stood up for herself and the Meduse really shows how brave she is.

#bsueng490 “The old patterns, no matter how cleverly rearranged to imitate progress, still condemn us to cosmetically altered repetitions, of the same old guilt, hatred, recrimination, lamentation, and suspicion.” (293)

#bsueng490 Binti is so so brave for fighting to stay alive, I feel like a lot of people in her situation would have given up after like a day.

#bsueng490 I am so so glad I was right about Justin being the one to kill Lexie, but I feel like the ending was really unsatisfying. I don’t think they should have gotten engaged.

#bsueng490 I really like that they brought up a lot of the ways that disabled people have been belittled, I had never considered it through the perspective of gender before.

#bsueng490 I honestly feel kind of bad for Cassie, I feel like she finally found something that she could be a part of, and she’s not ready to lose that. I want them to just let Cassie stay in Lexie’s place.

#bsueng490 I feel like Cassie is definitely too emotionally involved with the case now, and her reckless behavior is going to end up with someone hurt, and it’ll probably be herself.

#bsueng490 Cassie is really killing me with how deep she’s getting into her role, I feel like she’s going to end up getting way too emotionally involved.

#bsueng490 I’m putting my vote down here that I think it’ll end up in a polycule.

“Patriarchal power is stealthily handed over to the self-punishing regime of the fashion and beauty industry, which has the added value of promoting the idea that women self-police and have become their own toughest judges.” (McRobbie 626)

I think Cassie is way too chill about this whole situation. I personally would not be calm after seeing myself dead. #bsueng490

I’m really glad that we finally got more of Ada’s perspective near the end of the story, but I feel like I couldn’t understand a lot of what she said. #bsueng490

I feel like Asughara is such an unreliable narrator, because she feels so strongly about everything going on in Ada’s life, despite trying to seem like she’s impartial. #bsueng490

“Cyborgs might consider more seriously the partial, fluid, sometimes aspect of sex and sexual embodiment” (353)

I feel like these last couple chapters are where I finally started to actually get into the book and understand a lot of what’s been happening. #bsueng490

I really like Malena, I feel like she does a lot to support Ada and I hope that we get to see more of her later in the book. #bsueng490

“Gender is not passively scripted in the body, and neither is it determined by nature, language, the symbolic, or the overwhelming history of patriarchy.” Butler 491 #bsueng490

I don’t really enjoy the narration style I think it’s kind of hard to read, I hope that it gets more understandable as the story goes on. #bsueng490
