Good book. Got the hardcover when it came out.

That does it.

My next band name is No True Bill.

I miss the simple web, where there was a link and you clicked it and you went to the website and you got the content, in this case a video. Or an embedded video just played.

This TikTok link takes me to a teaser page which no matter what I do, dumps ne in the App Store. Nope, not installing TikTok.

Wow, Tesla just continues to blow it big-time. Repeatedly, earlier this year, the company’s full-time douchebag / part-time CEO said there were *two affordable new models” coming out before the end of June. They’re finally announced today and they’re new (boring) trims, not new models at all. Lies.

I seem to recall that the notion of "parkway" was invented by Robert Moses.

Paging Robert Caro....

It's the opening-night feature at the upcoming Santa Fe Int'l Film Festival.

I wish it wasn't. Not a fan of streaming-service movies at film festivals. Also not a fan of the whole Frankenstein thing. Oh well! The things one has to put up with :-)

Hey @bluesky want to make some money? Offer some little AI feature -- charge money for it! -- that blocks out any photo of Trump (or anyone, for that matter) that pops up in embedded news articles inside posts. So that feeds aren't full of that damn orange face. I would pay GOOD MONEY for that! 👍

Now I am curious, John: any chance Andy Weir was familiar with and inspired by your serialization of Old Man's War (which I loved, by the way) in 2002, and that got him to serialize The Martian on his own blog years later?

(Do the majority of Americans know what a constitutional republic is?)

“High-Profile Deniers” could be a band name

I can imagine what a PR person would say.

Or, say, a propagandist for a fascist regime.

Having seen the trailer, I’m not sure I’ll even bother going to see the movie.

Typo there: think you meant to use an f not a b

WHO KNEW that a lot of Americans saw, over the years, the repressive regimes of the Nazis, Soviets,Maoists, Russians, banana republics, and stuck-in-medieval-times theocratic patriarchical hellholes around the world, thought, “THAT’S what America should be!” and are pushing hard for that?!

Ffs. 🤷‍♂️

This is one weird cloud. Seen right now, southeast of Santa Fe.

Hoping it’s not a wildfire.

Did anyone maybe try calling the oil and gas industry? 🤷‍♂️

The YouTube-style/pro-wrestling-style tabloid headline hyperbole (“just demolished,” akin to that other overused word “slammed”) isn’t helpful, or accurate, imho.

The judge demolished nothing.

Well, mileage, it doth vary when it comes to this motion picture.

Having just seen the (not very good at all) haunted-house flick GOOD BOY over the weekend, that image conjures up all sorts of unpleasantness 😂
brianstorms.bsky.social
Watched that and hated it.

I still (proudly) have never seen a single episode of Friends, Seinfeld, Love Actually, Home Improvement, Parks and Rec., Frasier, ER, Buffy, Fresh Prince, Sopranos, 3rd Rock from Sun, Breaking Bad, It’s Always Sunny In Phila., Arrested Dev., Dexter, Gilmore Girls, Lost… the list is, er, long.

Can only imagine what Arrow would think of modern-era, highly-compartmentalized-as-if-they-were-three-letter-intelligence-agencies Silicon Valley tech companies like Apple or Tesla. Especially Tesla, where NDAs and lawyers and the threat of firing by Musk leads to a culture of fear and secrecy.
