This remains my favorite piece that I’ve ever written. I spilled more blood on the page here than ever before. Midnight Mass by @flanaganfilm.bsky.social had such a profound effect on me and in light of recent events, this piece seems more relevant than ever.

The school where I work is on modified lockdown and 2-hour delay this morning for “police activity” in the neighborhood right next to the school. All things considered, a lot of kids, parents, and staff are going to be on edge today.
