Promo items are quite niche. He may not know about all of them unless he took the time to research. Even then the regular sets are more widely sought after. The older ones are getting priiiiicey. Anyway, I have more cool stuff to share as I get around to taking pics :)

These particular 19" ones don't come around very often. In fact this is the only Cole DX I've ever seen. I've had this one for years. You're right: used LEGO stores/putting out feelers, ebay, and just searching around the Internet like a mad man.

From 2016, a Ninjago: Day of the Department lantern cardboard two-sided dangler. This was once hung in a store and now has a home in the Ninjagoseum.

The Day of the Departed Zane minifigure is for scale.

In 2023 The LEGO Store supported the inaugural season of Ninjago: Dragon's Rising with a dedicated build-a-minifigure (BAM) wave consisting of Arin, Sora, and a random martial arts girl. I picked up an extra Arin for Lloyd's hood.

It's a neat little "slice" of Ninjago: Dragon's Rising history.
