Today is the first ever UN World Day for Glaciers so it feels appropriate to highlight the cutting edge research within IoSS in this area. Work conducted last week collecting radar data on the Hofsjökull ice cap in Iceland as is a great example of this.

Back to civilisation after another great field campaign to Hofsjökull with the DRUMICE project. We managed to collect over 100km of radar lines over the 2 and a half day weather window. Will put together this quick little video. Thanks to NERC UK-Iceland collaboration grant for making this happen!

Empirical research has shown that, from socio-economic and cultural perspectives, poverty often presents different outcomes for girls and boys, with girls being particularly disadvantaged, not only in the present but across generations.
