They certainly should be subjected to much greater oversight and accountability. I'm not certain how to get this put in place, tho, unless ordinary citizens run for office and make necessary changes to the laws in their countries. Even then, intent might be against common good.

Very true. Sadly, Venezuelan people didn't vote for the American government to strong arm their way in because of the amount of oil the country has. Our administration must be held accountable for crimes against other sovereign nations.

My view: these arrests read less like justice and more like cover—actions that sidestep legal norms while projecting authority. When process is ignored, civility erodes, and Venezuelan citizens ultimately bear the cost, not those staging the spectacle.
