Ah yes. New Orleans for the weird. Just saw this in my feed elsewhere. Explains a few things.
NOLAPrepared: This weekend, in the Quarter, there is a convention for the National Federation of the Blind, a Swingers Convention, and a comic book and anime thing called GalaxyCon. So if you see Pokémon getting handsy with a Stormtrooper while being led into a dungeon by someone with a service dog, how about you mind your fucking business. When people talk about magic in New Orleans, it's whatever is happening down there right now. Have fun out there guys, we're glad yall are all here.

I come from Medicine Lodge, KS, the small town where Carry Nation broke on to the national scene smashing saloons. My older cousin Jack would remind me of that every July 4th, followed by "Steven, always celebrate the Fourth with a fifth." And then pull out a pint to toast Carry.
